The Third World Cup of Hockey was an ice hockey tournament hosted by Oliverry, The final 24 teams were separated into 4 groups of 6, and after all the matches were completed, Quakmybush took home the title for the 2nd time in 3 attempts, defeating Az-cz in the final. A controvesrial decision by the hosts, to allow Goals For, instead of either GD or H2H results to determine qualification, led to some confusion amongst some teams as to whether or not they had qualified for the knockouts. As to date, this is the only time this format has been used in the WCoH.
This was the 2nd consecutive WCoH to be entirely contested within the host nation. This tourney also saw the introduction of Play-in matches, which had the 2nd and 3rd placed teams from each Pool randomly drawn to face each other. The winners of those Play-in matches advanced to the main knock-out stages to face the Pool winners, each of whom recieved a bye.

The top three teams from each Pool advanced to the Knockout stages. (and are marked in green). The Pool winners recieved a Bye in the knockouts.
