o hai! This is the WikiStates Manual of Style. Here you will find help to make your fail article a glorious victory.

Basic coding

• To link to another article, do this. If you did it right, it'll look like this: do this.
• To pipe that link (i.e., use another word for it), hi there. If you did it right, it'll look like this: hi there.
• To add the page to a category, . If you did it right, it'll add it to the category. Please see WS:CAT for usage.
• To add a template, dothis. If you did this correctly, it will look like a template.
• To add a picture, . If you did this correctly, a thumbnail of your picture will appear on the righthand side of your article
• To link outside of WikiStates, Do this. If you did this correctly, it will look like this: Do this
• To link to Wikipedia specifically, do this. If you did this correctly, it will look like this: do this.
• To make your font bold or italic, add for bold and for italic.

Writing an article

• Lurk moar. Look around for formatting ideas.
• Use infoboxes.
• Introduce us. Write a lead section that summarises the article without going into superlatives.
• Lay it out. Use a few sections to split up your article into parts. Too many sections makes it hard to read. Use a second-level header (==Title==) for regular sections.
• Links plx. Link to relevant forum topics (External links) and related WikiStates articles (See also).
• Cats are fine too. Add categories to your article.
• Use interwiki links when possible. This helps format links to pages on certainly commonly-linked sites of special interest to NS.
• Don't use The in an article title, unless you are Yahya Jammeh.
