Geography
At 721,800 km², Trøndelag is a decent-sized colony. The Trøndelagian landscape consists generally of four geographical areas, each with characteristic vegetation with some variation within and overlap between them: The North Highlands, the Great Trøndish Plain, the South Highlands and the Southern Plains.
North Highlands
The North Highlands are located in the far north of the colony, and run from north to south, bordered by the northern coast to the north, the Ørland Peninsula to the west, the Leikan River to the east and the Great Trøndish Plain to the south. The North Highlands consist of rolling hills that are home to hundreds of small farms that grow rice and fruits in the lush and fertile hillsides. Temperatures vary from a high of 38°C in the summer months to a low of 5°C in the winter months. Humidity remains relatively stable at between 50 and 60%.
Great Trøndish Plain
The Great Trøndish Plain is located in the center of the colony, and runs from north to south. It is bordered by the North Highlands in the north, the ocean in the east, the South Highlands in the south and the unchartered territories in the west. The Great Trøndish Plain is a relatively flat area, and is blessed with fertile soil and stable climate conditions. Temperatures remain relatively stable with a high of 40°C in the summer to a low of 25°C in the winter months, with a humidity of around 85°. Tropical rainfall is frequent, making it ideal land for farming all year around. As such, thousands of farms and plantations have found their home here, growing mostly maize, wheat and rice.
South Highlands
The South Highlands are located in the southwestern part of the colony, and run from southwest to northeast. It is bordered by unchartered territory to the west, the Great Trøndish Plain in the north, and the Southern Plains in the east and south. The South Highlands are very hilly terrains, and home to the Majestic Mountains, a mountain range which extends south into unchartered territory. The highest peak, Mount Raja, stands at 5,268 meters above sea level. Temperatures range from a high of 35° in the lower areas to a frosty -30°C in the mountains, with humidity varying from 70% to 0% in the altitude. The lower portions of the Highlands are popular grazing fields for livestock, and dozens of livestock ranches are located in this region.
Southern Plains
The Southern Plains are located in the far south of the colony, and run from the southwest to the north. It is bordered by the South Highlands in the north, the unchartered territories in the west, and the ocean in the south and west. The Southern Plains are relatively flat, and are blessed with fertile soil. Temperatures vary from a high of 43°C to a low of 15°C due to the ocean currents, and have a humidity level of 85%. As with the Great Trøndish Plain, tropical rainfall is frequent and enable farming for most of the year.
Settlements
Of course, the colony wouldn't be a colony without settlements, and Trøndelag has quite a few. Most settlements are located near the coastline, around the Leikan River in the northern parts of the colony, or along the railroad which functions as a lifeline for inland homesteads. The settlements are dispersed throughout the colony, but there are eight major settlements that serves as the home for an estimated 44.1% of the colony's population.
- The largest settlement is without question the colonial capital of Lade on the eastern coastline, which is the home to the colonial government and an estimated 7 million people. Lade is one of the most important ports in Trøndelag, and the connecting hub for the Greater Trøndelag Railroad.
- Next, we have the port city of Røros on the northern coast, which is located on the mouth of the Leikan River. Røros is home to 2.7 million people, and serves as the primary shipping port for the food transport back to the Homeland. As such, it has one of the largest ports in the colony, spreading out over 900 km². It is also home to one of the larger naval stations in the colony.
- Verdal in the far south is home to 3.2 million people and is a vital port city.
- Dokka is a large coastal city located on the easternmost tip of the Southern Plains that is home to much of Trøndelag's fisheries fleet, and is the home of 4.6 million people.
- Steinkjær in the interior of the colony, in the South Highlands, is a vital hub that handles nearly all produce from the South Highlands and transports it east towards the coast. As such, the city that houses 1.7 million people is a vital part of the Trøndelagish economy.
- Leikanger is located in the interior at the Lake Haakon, the origin of the Leikan River. Leikanger is a vital center of commerce, and is responsible for shipping some 70% of all agricultural products from the Great Trøndish Plain north to Røros and the ships that will take it to the Cottish homeland. Leikanger is home to 5.3 million people.
- Ørland in the tip of the Ørland Peninsula in the far north of Trøndelag is not so much responsible for agriculture as it is for fisheries. Home to the northern part of the Trøndelagish fisheries fleet, the city of 3.3 million is dependant on the fisheries and on the large military presence located on the Ørland Peninsula. Ørland is connected with the rest of the colony via the single double-tracked coastal railroad line that runs from Ørland to Lade.
- Last, but not least, we have the city of Trondenes. Trondenes is home to 3.1 million people and is the industrial center of Trøndelag. The city is the home of three shipyards (two commercial and one military), and other heavy industries.
Landwise, Trøndelag can be divided as such:
- Arable Land 29%
- Permanent Crops 48%
- Permanent Pastures 7%
- Forests and Woodland 11%
- Other 5%

Government
Trøndelag is a Cottish colony, and as a result, it is highly autonomous from the control of the central government, being evident in the fact that the only things the central government controls directly in Trøndelag is the foreign policy, the defence policy and administers the flow of money from the central government to the colonial treasury. Cottish experience shows that the old form of administration with the administrative troika was less than ideal, and it has been decided to adopt the more traditional form of governmental organization in both colonies and counties alike. As a result, the colonies are governed by a Governor-General (Cottish: generalguvernør) who is elected by popular vote from the colony's population, and who answer to the Trøndelag Colonial Legislature (Cottish: Folketinget). Folketinget is elected every four years, but the Governor-General can petition Folketinget to call for new elections before the four-year term is up.
Trøndelag also have the right to send one representative to Rikstinget in Eeobroht in order to respesent the colony's interests. This representative is elected by popular vote from the population of Korangar every four years, during the national Rikstinget elections.
