Government

The 1648 Constitution of Valipac established a bicameral legislature (parliament), an executive branch composed of a Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister, and a judicial branch appointed by Parliament.

Executive branch

The Prime Minister is not elected directly, but is the leader of the political party that holds the largest number of seats in the Parliament. The leading party in Parliament appoints the Cabinet and its Prime Minister, and may dismiss any minister heading up a governmental department at any time. Sometimes, no single party has a majority of power, so they must work with each other to form coalition governments. The Prime Minister must receive a vote of confidence for his appointed ministers before they are permitted to actively serve.

The Prime Minister runs the domestic and foreign affairs of Valipac. The current Prime Minister is Edward Atlee.
