Like the first Oxen Cup, this was a double elimination tourney. But the twist this time was each nation could chose their opponent in each round, leading to some interesting match-ups that in a normal tournement might not occur. Defending Champions, Cafundéu, were eliminated after just two games, partly due to their apperance in both the Oxen Cup and a similar tourney being held by Elves Security Forces. Qazox finally hoisted its own trophy, after surviving a 2nd final game against Jeruselem, who were seeking their would-be record 3rd Oxen Cup title.

This was the first Oxen Cup to average over 50,000 in attendence per match, though the overall attendence total fell, due to the fewest number of matches since Oxen Cup 4.
