Orlkjestad, officially called the Constitutional Monarchy of Orlkjestad, (Orlkjestadi: Kolstütinel Münciaal dä Örlkjestäd, Pyrillic: Kolpüta Matichä Kö Örlkjestäd) is a Scandinavian country separated midway by the Hendstei Mountains and made up of 28 administrative divisions. It is governed mainly by Prime Minister Sir Olaf Gregorsen, but it is officially ruled by Queen Margot IV. It takes up the entire Pyrillic Peninsula, bordered at the east by the Baltic Sea, the west by the North Sea, and at the south by the Pyrillic Sea. A rather modern nation getting energy mainly via nuclear and hydroelectric power, Orlkjestad is pretty similar to nearby Scandinavian nations, if you don't count Orlkjestad's large population of 840 people. It sports a sharp contrast to its neighboring country, Iraqialand.

Geography and Climate
Orlkjestad is located on the Pyrillic peninsula, split midway by the Hendstei Mountains. The climate is sub-tropical in the south, temperate in the center, and tundra in the north. This causes the whole area to be able to hold a bounty of crops, such as sugar cane, beet sugar, corn, millet, flax, and taro. The Hendstei Mountains hold Orlkjestad's highest peak, Mount Ähmei, at 17,890 feet. The 8,979 kilometer long mountain range also holds the source of the 3,423 kilometer long Alstorei River. The rivier has played an important role in Orlkjestadi history. The Njord Mountains, in the Aalbach Islands, is well known for having fertile soil. Some geologists think that the entire Aalbach Islands are the top of this mountain range. Like the Alstorei River, the Hendstei Mountains has played an important role in Orlkjestadi history by isolating the western Pyrillic Peninsula from the Eastern Pyrillic Peninsula.
History
"Survival of the Fittest" was extremely prevalent in ancient Orlkjestad, as the rough, tundra-like environment in the north, rugged landscapes in the center, and hot temperatures in the south made the Pyrillic peninsula a desolate place. Civilization did not develop until 3800BC.
Prehistory
Archaeologists suspect that the seas surrounding the Pyrillic peninsula were once wide open plains 1.8 million years ago, as it is around this time that the first humanoids arrived in Orlkjestad. Ancient humanoid fossils were uncovered at the coastline of the North Sea, furthering this hypothesis. The fossil has been named Olaf, a Neanderthal who is estimated to have died 550,000 years ago, making scientists believe that the seas were dry up until 490,000 years ago, when evidence shows that the land was flooded. Cave paintings have been found in the Hendstei Mountains, dating up to 4500BC. By 3800BC, small kingdoms have been set up on the Pyrillic peninsula.
Small Kingdoms
The exact date of the first civilizations on the Pyrillic Peninsula is unknown, but archaeologists estimate the first kingdoms were founded around 3800 BC. In the earlier years of this period, these kingdoms often lived in fear of tribal raids. After the founding of Anderia in 3250BC, however, the Pyrillic peninsula entered its first golden age and Pyrillic culture spread throughout the area, driven by the kingdom of Anderia.
Anderia
Anderia was a citystate taking up what is now the Orlkjestadi Federal District, formed by uniting the local tribes. The first evidence of this early civilization dates up to 200BC. This civilization has the earliest known traces of modern Orlkjestadi civilization. Anderia, named for their capital city of Anders, had to deal with being the only civilization in the area. Not much is known about this time period, but archaeologists do know that Anders was sacked and razed by the Norse in 700AD, along with most other small kingdoms like it. After the fall of Anderia, the most powerful of the kingdoms, the Pyrillic peninsula was officially under Norse rule.
Norse Pyrillic Peninsula
After Anders was sacked, the Norse claimed the Pyrillic peninsula their own. It was during this period that Kolsvabard was built on top of the ruins of Anders. Little is known about this period due to the lack of artifacts left behind by the Norse. Peter the Great was born during this period, and he will play a very important part in the history of Orlkjestad.
