The North Point Mainland is the first of the two subcontinents that make up the country of North Point. The capital of North Point, Jacksonville, is located on the mainland. It is the primary administrative region of North Point, and the first of the country's many islands to be colonized.
Interestingly, the mainland is not the largest (by land area) island in North Point; Wellington Island is much larger, with an area of over 140,000 square miles as opposed to the mainland's 90,000. However, since the mainland was the first island to be settled, as well as the location of most of North Point's governmental facilities, it has traditionally retained the nickname "the mainland".
