The Flag of Kampfers was officially adopted in 1921 by the government of the Neo-Prussian Dictatorship of Kampfers, but had been used by most authorities for some number of years prior. It replaced the royal standard of Kampfers, which was in turn adopted in 1824. It is commonly referred to as "Eternal Cross" (Ewig Kreuz), in reference to the iron cross in the upper left corner.
History
Symbolism
In the canton, the viewer sees a black-white-red tricolor. Each of these bars symbolizes something. The black bar stands for the power of the Kampferian Reich. The white bar symbolizes the peaceful path that the Reich prefers to take. On top of the tricolor, an iron cross is apparent. This cross stands for Kampferian nationalism. The Nordic cross that dominates the flag symbolizes the strong Christian roots on which the nation is founded. It is composed of two colors: black, once again representing power, and gold, which represents the royal family.
