The Austerbeck class heavy cruiser is a nuclear powered cruiser currently in production for the Federalemarine. Ships of the class are named after cities and localities in Oseato, as well as battle sites.

Role

The Austerbeck class ships serve in a fire support role amongst the Oseaton Fleets. Their dual 6 Inch guns provide direct fire against land and sea targets. The guns are primarily used for support of land forces, but could be used in self defense against sea threats. The VLS cells are loaded with a combination of Tomahawk, Hatchet, and Valkyrie missiles for their different uses.

The cruiser carries two LAMPS MH-60R to further it's ASW capabilities. The ship is not designed to conduct ASW operations on it's own, but is meant to help coordinate with other dedicated ASW ships.
