.val is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the Commonwealth of Valipac. The Valipacian Networking and Information Board (VNIB) does not require second-level domains, but does allow for the use of common international second-level domains. The name is based on the most recognizable letters in Valipac. The domain name must have at least 4 letters and may not be exclusively composed of numbers. .val registrations must be ordered directly from VNIB.

Some second-level domains are reserved for special use, such as:

  • .co.val, for commercial websites;
  • .org.val, for non-profit organisations;
  • .gov.val, for government websites (both central and local);
  • .ed.val, for educational institutions, the latter being phased out of use;
  • .mil.val, for websites connected with the Valipacian Armed Forces
